We Believe...
The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments
to be the Word of God;
The Creeds (as the standard of faith) mean exactly what they say;
Christian morality of the New Testament is the sole guide for the Church;
The Sacraments convey Grace, and through them Christ is known and present;
The Apostolic ministry of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons was instituted
by Christ and it is male in character;
The worship of the Church has as its basis the Book of Common Prayer (1928);
We do not compromise on matters of faith, doctrine, discipline or morality;
The American Anglican Church and The Anglican Province of The Good Shepherd
are part of the historic Holy Catholic Church, tracing its teaching and ministry
to the early Apostolic Church. It is a part of the worldwide Anglican
Movement.
Our ministry is to create a Christian Community where God's Word is proclaimed as truth, where He is worshipped and praised as Lord and where each member is prepared for ministry and challenged to grow in knowledge of Him so that we may live our faith in love and personal witness towards each other and the community at large.
Prayer Book
In worship we use the Book of Common Prayer 1928 edition. This edition contains prayers and affirmations of faith dating to the beginning of Christianity and was translated into English by Archbishop Cranmer in 1547. It remains essentially unchanged since that time.
